Omnidirectional technology

Versatile tracking markers, for seamless 3D tracking with full-angle continuity

A swirling, wave-like formation of glowing blue dots on a black background, resembling spherical fiducials in a digital or abstract 3D energy field.

Freedom of movement takes on a new meaning

Omnidirectional marker technology is based on a new concept: combining high accuracy with large-viewing angle capability, enhancing freedom of movement for the users during tracking.
It supports arbitrary 3D marker shapes and sizes, but typical implementations are prisms, cylinders, cones or spheres, whose surface is populated with a geometry of fiducials optimized by Atracsys to ensure accurate and smooth marker detectability, with a viewing angle that can be up to 360° rotation.

Available off-the-shelf

This generic marker is designed to help customers quickly evaluate the omnidirectional marker concept. Available off-the-shelf, it features a rigid 3D-printed body equipped with retro-reflective discs for reliable tracking performance.
The tip is a precise ruby sphere and ensures accurate spatial referencing, making it ideal for evaluation and prototyping.

Custom forpi markers

Fitting your application needs

forpi is truly meant for customization. Based on the requirements of your application, Atracsys creates the forpi geometry that will suit your needs adequately.
Arbitrary shape and size are supported, allowing you to exploit the full potential of this technology and of complex geometry tracking.

Enhanced possibilities

Continuous reconstruction over a wide range of viewing angle up to 360°
