Atracsys is committed to offering timely, effective technical support to its customers. Technical support is available for both developers as well as product users.

If you are starting your first navigation project, or would like to understand how you can integrate an easyTrack or accuTrack into your development, start with our Frequently Asked Questions area below:

Do I need to calibrate my tools each time that I use them?

No. All atracsys systems and markers are fully factory calibrated. There is no need to calibrate them.

Is it difficult to integrate the easyTrack and accuTrack software?

Not at all. See the small amount of code needed. You should be able to have your system up and running in about an hour. No complicated development kits are needed. The following sample code presents a program that acquires LED positions from markers one and three and displays their position in the console window:

What are the advantages of positioning the tracker closer to the work area?

Older systems required you to station the tracker far from the working area leading to frequent occlusions. Placing your easyTrack or accuTrack closer to the work area offers a much better line of sight and freedom of movement behind the tracker.

I have some Medivision® and other markers. Will they work with the easyTrack and accuTrack?

Yes. Most standard markers that use the Redel 9 pin system will work directly with the easyTrack. Redel 10 pin markers can be used via the easyBox. In the case of the accuTrack, Redel 10 pins markers are the standard. They can be plugged into the accuBox. If you have any questions, we would be happy to test your markers for you.

What is the difference between a marker, a LED and a rigid body?

Different manufactures of markers use their own terminology. In Atracsys terminology a marker is generally composed of four active LEDs that are used to track the instrument to which they are attached. Other manufacturers might refer to one reflective ball or LED as a marker. Four balls or LEDs would then make up a rigid body that is attached to the instrument to be tracked.

Are atracsys systems certified?

Yes. All atracsys systems are CE certified but not yet for medical use. If you would like to use the system for human clinical trials you will need to get the necessary approvals.

Which technology is the most precise: Passive or Active?

In the many independent studies that have been done, each time Active Optical is shown to be the most precise.

Is the working volume of the accuTrack system bigger than some other systems?

Yes. Both the accuTrack and the accuTrack compact were designed to give you the largest working volume of any competitive system.

Can I run the easyTrack and accuTrack systems from my laptop?

Without any problem. The USB 1.1 and 2.0 feature means that you can run your program on any computer with a USB port. No need to worry about strober boxes, PCI boards or older serial ports that restrict your mobility.

What if I need a custom marker; can you help?

Of course. We would be happy to execute your design or we can take your need and propose a solution for you.

Can I use the MATLAB to work with the easyTrack and accuTrack information?

Yes. The API is available under MATLAB and all other high level languages (i.e. JAVA, C#, etc.)
